How are Cambridge’s metal belts made?

An operator assembles each belt by hand.

How long should my belt last?

It depends on duty cycles and belt maintenance.

What information do I need to request a quote?

In order to provide the best belt, we need to know: Application, any problems or issues, and basic specifications including length, width and materials.

What do I need to place an order?

If you do not have terms established, set-up an account by contacting sales@cambridge-es.com. If you have terms, we require a purchase order with:

  1. Ship to address
  2. Freight carrier and terms (Best Way PPD&ADD if you want added to the invoice)
  3. Pricing on PO to match quote
  4. Quantities needed stated clearly on PO
  5. Any special shipping instructions

If I want to pay by credit card, what information is needed?

Credit card number, expiration date, security code and the name on the card. We do not keep this information on file so we will need this each time you pay via credit card.

Where can I send my quote requests and purchase orders?

Email sales@cambridge-es.com, fax to 410-221-1100, or call us at 1-800-638-9560 or 410-901-2660 with your request.

Does the belt have a top and bottom?

Not for most applications, however, when installing a new belt, all rolls need to be spooled off the same way or it will not track properly.

How do you tell the difference in left and right hand spirals?

Right hand spirals are wound clockwise and left hand spirals are wound counter clockwise.

How do I track my belt?

Picture the belt as a bicycle if you are sitting on the belt the idle rollers are your handle bars so if you push the roller forward on the right, the belt will turn left and vice versa.

Where should I set the air pressure on my take-up roll?

You only need enough pressure to drive the belt and not have it slip.

Can I use my two end drums to track my belt instead of the idle rolls throughout the system?

No! Doing this will cause the belt to stretch on one side and you will have to continually adjust the end drum until you are out of travel and your belt will no longer track properly.
