CAMBRIDGE — United Way of the Lower Eastern Shore’s Dorchester County team launched it’s 2016 campaign drive with a “Champion’s Breakfast.” CEO’s, campaign coordinators and community leaders joined UWLES partner agencies and staff to celebrate success stories from last year and kickoff the new campaign.
Attendees included those planning on launching new campaigns as well as those that have had programs for many years. Building on the success of recent campaigns, coordinators shared ideas and processes that were successful. Alex Williams and Carlos Wilson, United Way partner agency members told of the impact funding had had on their Scouting program, which goes beyond the “normal” scouting experience. With 20 agencies and 40 specific programs, Dorchester County is served well by the United Way.
The Dorchester Team sends out thanks to two longtime United Way supporters, Cambridge International and Delco Packaging Products, for sponsoring the breakfast meeting and to Eastern Shore Hospital Center for hosting.
United Way of the Lower Eastern Shore serves Dorchester, Wicomico, Worcester, and Somerset counties primarily in three areas, Education, Health and Financial Stability. While one of approximately 1,400 independent United Ways around the world 100 percent of the funds contributed through UNLES campaigns stay in the four county area.
