We are a trusted leader in PE certified design and (US) manufacturing of new and replacement Water Screen Systems for industrial, municipal and agricultural applications. We offer a wide range of custom Traveling Water Screens, Stationary Water Screens, Trash Racks, Bar Screens and Stop Logs for manmade (i.e. cooling towers) and natural (i.e. river, lake, etc.) water sources. They are also referred to as Cooling Tower Screens, Intake Screens, Pump Screens and Trash Screens. Our roots in Water Screen Systems date back over 80 years.
A Traveling Water Screen is a self-cleaning water filtration system with a mechanically or manually rotated mesh belt. The belt lifts debris from the water source and an internal spray-off system deposits it into a collection trough or on to a conveyor for disposal.
A stationary or static water screen is a framed mesh panel used to filter debris from a manmade (i.e. cooling tower basin) or natural water source. As the screen becomes obstructed with debris it is lifted out of the water and washed off. These systems have a lower up-front cost and are typically used for smaller volumes of debris.
This article compares a Traveling Water Screen (TWS) system to the traditional stationary screens typically installed in a cooling tower basin. A Traveling Water Screen has a significantly lower total cost of ownership. A Traveling Water Screen is much safer and significantly easier to maintain, and they efficiently remove the harmful debris that passes by and under traditional stationary water screens during cleaning.
A Trash Rack, also called a Trash Screen or Bar Screen, is a heavy-duty grate or cage system designed to prevent large and potentially harmful debris such as trees, branches, trash etc. from entering a water intake system, while maintaining the required flow rate.
We develop PE-certified designs for every custom Water Screen System. If you need a new or replacement system or would like to reverse engineer and replace a broken system, we can help. When our engineers are involved early in the planning process, we can provide critical information in system selection and design. We can evaluate the site and study the required performance criteria and the environment.
Click this box to download the Traveling & Stationary Water Screen Proposal Request Form. If you select both Traveling & Stationary, we will provide a detailed proposal for both system types. Please read the instructions and provide as much detail as possible. If you are developing a bid specification please include this information when you email the form.
