Cambridge Shines at Triennial Baking Expo

In less than a week, I'll pack my bags and head to the world's biggest baking industry trade show. Along with 20,000 food processors, providers and prognosticators, I'll travel to "Fabulous Las Vegas” for IBIE2016.

Held every three years, the International Baking Industry Exposition (aka "The Baking Expo") is THE place for producers, suppliers and distributors to showcase - and show-off - their latest and greatest baked goods, ingredients and equipment.

And Team Cambridge will lead the pack as we roll out new products and preview game-changing technologies planned for 2017.

Since my first IBIE in 1998, numerous technological, material and design advances in conveying solutions have dramatically improved food processing. And this year’s program promises to continue that trend. Our 2016 showroom also celebrates the power of partnerships to create custom solutions that advance the baking industry by increasing food safety and operating efficiencies while reducing the total cost of ownership.

This year, we’re unveiling three conveyor belts available for the first time to the broad market. Developed in partnership with I.J. White Systems, Variable DuraLite,® and Variable Cambri-Link,® feature highly customizable openings that reduce weight, allow increased product load, and support smaller-sized goods. Our third debut is Cam-Grid®GP, a highly adaptable, metric-sized spiral cage belt engineered for international and domestic markets. We’ll have samples of all three running on conveyors at the show.

If you’re at the Baking Expo this year, please visit us in Hall C, Booth 9934 or join us on Monday, October 10 from 3-5 pm, at a reception celebrating our OEM partners. Along with my colleague Crystal Willey, I’ll present Cambridge’s annual POEM Award to Krispy Kreme Doughnuts. For more than five decades, Sani-Grid® has been Krispy Kreme’s trusted conveyor belt, helping this iconic brand turn out their billions of their signature glazed doughnuts.

Lastly, since IBIE only occurs every three years, we're proud to announce that our Cambridge's showroom will also feature a working CamEDGE system, the revolutionary cageless spiral conveyor engineered with G&F. Unveiled to the international industry at Anuga FoodTec, CamEDGE will make its U.S. debut at IBIE2016.
